Shahnawaz Qamar – Registered Manager

Shahnawaz joined Nationwide Fostering as Registered Manager (Interim) in October 2025.
Shahnawaz’s journey in social work began in India, where he worked with several developmental organisations and over the past 22 years, he has built a strong career in fostering and adoption, gaining experience with both a leading Independent Fostering Agency and local authority.
Shahnawaz is a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England. He has taken on a variety of roles throughout his career – from supporting and training foster carers to supervising and supporting social work staff, undertaking assessments, quality assurance, safeguarding, compliance and promoting best practice in this field. His experience and leadership are driven by a genuine passion for helping children and young people to thrive in safe and nurturing families.
As the Registered Manager of Nationwide Fostering, Shahnawaz’s ambition is to drive the growth of the team and organisation while ensuring the best possible outcomes for Looked After Children.
Outside his professional commitments, Shahnawaz enjoys exploring nature, travelling to new places, and seeking adventures. He is also actively involved in social and philanthropic activities, contributing his time, knowledge, and skills to initiatives that aim to improve lives and promote community well-being.
